RCB have now beaten KXIP twice this season, clinching a 17-run win at their home ground after successfully defending a massive score of 202 on a flat deck.
Despite losing Virat Kohli early on, RCB got off to a flyer thanks to Parthiv's aggressive 43, pushing the score to 70 during the powerplay. Following this, the pace of scoring dropped significantly as De Villiers and Stoinis worked to steady the ship.
Once settled, the pair unleashed chaos on the KXIP bowling attack in the closing stages. AB de Villiers showcased his legendary versatility, remaining not out on 82. Meanwhile, Stoinis contributed to a thrilling finale, helping the team add 27 runs in the last over to finish with over 200.
KXIP's chase started promisingly with Gayle and Rahul, but Umesh Yadav's brilliant dismissal of Gayle halted the early flow. Although several batters managed to clear the boundary comfortably, the loss of an in-form Rahul to Moeen Ali caused a sudden and worrying slowdown in the run rate.
Pooran attempted to shift the pressure by hitting three straight sixes off Sundar, bringing the target within reach. With 47 runs required from the last four overs, KXIP seemed to have the upper hand. However, RCB produced an unexpectedly disciplined death-bowling performance to seal the game by 17 runs.
